If I trade an options spread, should I also buy the stock?
I’ve placed a put credit spread trade and now the stock’s price is rising fast. Does it make sense for me to buy the stock outright in addition to trading options on it?
The short answer is: No.
We are not a fan of doubling down because it increases your risk exposure to a single position. We like to keep all trades to a similar risk level because it ensures that no one trade can cause serious damage to your portfolio wealth. Diversification is the way to go, and that means no doubling down.
